Monstrum

In 2025 Rio further develops its work around the idea of a painting that appears.

Etymologically, monstrum refers to a divine apparition, which can be either unsettling or benevolent. Monstrum gave rise to the words "monster" and "to show." The monster is the thing that is pointed at, and what is pointed at makes an appearance.

More than the subject matter, the motif, or the color, it is the emergence of decision thresholds that is captured here, following codes that remain to be explored. To be continued; here are a few excerpts.
